Extra strong home brew beer
A great guide on producing stronger than usual home brew!
Product Information
This is a guide to produce a strong home brew beer (high alcohol percentage) using the Coopers Microbrewery kit. Producing a strong beer using a microbrewery kit is probably easier than what you think. Using some basic skills you can turn at 4% alcohol into a 20% alcohol.
If you’re using the Coopers kit then prepare your beer as normal and get it fermenting remember the more sugar you add the higher the percentage of alcohol it will produce but keep in mind it will alter the taste of the beer and can make it un-drinkable.
Let’s just keep it at 1kg of sugar for this example.
Once the brew has settled and no longer has any action through the airlock (approx 7 days) then you can begin the next stage. This is a step what may take some time, with some help move the fermenter to a freezer preferably a tub freezer. Place the brew in the freezer and allow to freeze this can take up to 7 days. Once it has frozen you will notice you will have a beer coloured liquid and a clear liquid. Remove the clear liquid away from the coloured. The coloured is the alcohol!
Now you can begin on the last stage and that is bottling. Bottle as normal and add the priming sugar to the beer before you seal the beers.
The only problem I have come across is the beer loses its bubbles completely. However with the beer sitting at 20% it is more shot worthy than the traditional drinking way.
